An archeological dig in 2010 uncovered Bury St Edmunds Bronze Age origins. In addition they uncovered Roman artefacts. The town was a royal borough of the Saxons and got its name on account of it being the burial location of King Edmund The Martyr, who was killed through the Danes in 869. Apparen
